Skyline Trail Riders
COVID Guidelines For Our Riders
There are a few adjustments for this year’s ride. Being outside is inherently safer. Being in your own camp isolates you among trusted members of your own “clan” which is your own business.
When we gather for our shared activities, we need to assume a safe posture
Club Activities
• For the club activities like cocktail hour and meals, we are going to do what the restaurants are allowed as per CDC guidelines: 6 ft distancing (all tables will be properly spaced apart), mask use mandatory if closer than 6ft, regular handwashing & sanitizing, as well as a pledge by all that one will not attend if symptomatic or has been in close contact with an infected person within the last 14 days.
• We will rent or build at least two portable hand wash stations, and will have plenty of disposable masks and hand sanitizer available.
• We will require a pledge that if someone is wearing a mask and wishes to approach another cowboy closer than 6ft, the other cowboy will don his mask too – as an act of respect for our fellow members and guests
Longbranch Bar
• We will locate the bar adjacent to the mess tent so that we can offer the same properly spaced tables for both cocktails and meals. Of course, there will be plenty of room to stand around
• Drinks will be offered differently, under the following protocols:
-
Dual lines to the bar separated by plexiglass. Bartenders (guests or caterer staff) will serve. They will be masked and gloved.
-
Via table service by guests or caterer staff
-
No "bellying up to the bar"
-
Canned beer, wine and even cocktails will be available in separate coolers.
-
No shared supplies and all containers are single use
-
We all know that after dinner many of us are inclined to “let our hair down” at The Longbranch. Just remember to be respectful.
Meal Service
• The mess tent will be supplemented by additional pop-up tents in a larger area around the mess tent
• Breakfast and dinner will be on a buffet line that separates cowboys from caterers by plexiglass. Catering staff will plate these meals and hand them off at the end of the line.
• Lunch will be selected from an order card handed out at dinner. The lunches will be ready for pickup at breakfast the following day
• Coffee and other service will be available (serving manner TBD)
• We are working on offering a take out delivery system for anyone who wants to eat in their individual camps
We are discussing a new idea of having guests paired with their sponsoring members to visit individual camps and introduce themselves. This can be a lower risk encounter for those wishing to be more cautious and a good bonding activity. There is always the desire to pass on STR traditions from old to new and with the COVID, we need to innovate.
