Latest News from STR-Revised

Howdy-STR Members,

Ride Wrap Up. The August ride at the Dixie Ranch was a rip-roaring success, certainly one of the best rides we have ever had. Nothing beats soaking in the 109 degree spa water after a hard day’s ride. STR has made a $500 donation to the Ukiah School District and a $500 donation to the Ukiah Senior Living Center. It would be great if you could take the time to write a thank you note or email to our hosts: Fee & Julie Stubblefield, 401 NE Evans, McMinnville, OR 97128. Fstubblefield@thespringsliving.com. Also, I want to mention the generous donation of a saddle by Harvey Holtz. Kevin Urbach sold it at his shop for $2,700. Thank you Harvey and Kevin.

Ride Gift. Thank you Scott for coming up with the great gift this year. Also, Scott on behalf of the STR, presented Fee & Julie Stubblefield with a special edition of one of the knives from the ride

Presdent’s Ride Summary. Scott Weaver’s excellent Ride Summary appears at the end of this newsletter.

Ride Pictures. It would be great if you would send some pictures of the ride to Glenn McGinnis who is in charge of the STR webpage. His email address is: glenn@cybercityinc.com

STR Webpage. Be sure and check out the STR webpage at www.skylinetrailriders.com. The password is really easy for you hard core drinkers to remember—“long branch”. Glenn has done an outstanding job. The web page is a really good resource and I am planning on helping Glen this year to make it even more helpful to the members. Some of you might have copies of the now out-of-print three-ring binder history of the STR. Glen has scanned it and posted on the website so now if available to all to read.

Portrait-Photos of the Members for the STR Webpage. The webpage also has portrait-photos of many of the members. I think that is a really useful feature especially for new members to help them get to know everyone. In the next few weeks I am going to be sending emails to those of you whose picture is currently not on the website to encourage you to submit a picture of yourself for inclusion on the website.
